Following on from an idle conversation about Wonders of the Solar System, somehow, I find that there is a trip to the Hill of Tara being planned for Saturday 14 March 2010 to stargaze and do a few long exposures maybe.
Keith Murray helpfully ran The Ephemerial Photography for the location and time and you’ll find a screengrab of that here.
Google Map is here:

(hope that works)
If you’re interested in coming along, we’re aiming to get to Tara for around 6ish, 6.30 in the hope of getting a nice sunset as well.
Options for fun are
- freezing
- shooting star trails
- long exposures
- looking at the sky and some star spotting. I am singularly useless at this and so can be very easily impressed by people who do know a bit more about this than me. I will have binoculars with me as well, if I remember to pack them.
I will probably bring a flask of hotwater and some sachets of instant hot chocolate. If people are interested, they can either grab me on twitter at www.twitter.com/treasa or email me on windsandbreezes [at] gmail.com
